Sunday:
I played VERY hungover in our first game but fortunately people were able to pick up the slack for me and rolled through our first game. Next game would be the semi-finals in which we would lose to Shippensburg. The quality of our team play really worried me but I think that practice and asserting myself more will help fix this. I truly think that I asserted myself as the most dominant player on our team, if not at the tournament in this game. I played lock down defense, stifling both cutters and handlers. And I ran the offense nearly every other throw went through me on some points, I never had issues getting open, I could simply cut at will. But at the end of the 13-8 loss I was beat to hell having played all but 2 points. So in short I need to work on my cardiovascular abilities since I'm probably going to have to take over games like that a lot for the majority my college ultimate career. My general feeling about the weekend is that we need to be much better, right now we're not very good, we need to get better.
Saturday:
No real competition was the story of saturday, every team we played sucked dick so we rolled through our pool, the Alumni were fun to play but I've never played a worse game of ultimate. Last week of August pick up is better than that game. But to bring out the positives of saturday we showed that we're an athletic team that has a lot of potential once we start practicing for real (note to self to get fields for thursday night practices).
Last Friday:
Practice, did some sprints during it. But overall I think it was a good practice I was working hard but as always having the B-teamers around really lowers the intensity and quality of the practice. But I think that the practice was productive in the run up to the tournament.
Last Thursday:
Power Cleans 3x6 @70
Squat 3x6 @185
DB Lunges 3x6 @100
Single Leg Calf Raises 3x6 @145
Chest Press 3x6 @150

Shoulder Press 3x6 @70
Paintbrushes 3x12 @12 each arm
Runners 3x12 @7.5 each arm
Crunches 3x20 @110
It felt good being back at the old weight

Practice
Back in business, playing at practice. My ankle is still tender and I try not to jump off it which sucks since I suck at jumping off my right leg. Played well at practice got solid workout out of it. I'm glad I really brought my all to practice, I need to do that more. Gym tomorrow, practice Friday, home tournament this weekend (4th tournament of the fall). Time to do work.
On a side note I think that this team has the potential to be an amazing team, the vets outside of my year need to find a purpose and drive as well as come to the realization that they aren't going to 'live it up' as they are not the studs of the team. Clay and Goose a good but they're not on an untouchable level the way their seniors allegedly were their freshman year. When they realize that myself, Nate, and Alec will bearing much of the burden of the team as will Corey and rookie Matt. I just hope we can bring it together.

Back in business... maybe
Well it's been a while since I've posted and I'm going to start doing a better job since now we're splitting into A and B so the season has started.
Injury Report: Ankle is still only 80% so I need to rehab it, hipflexer feeling good but this weekend will show how good it is, hamstring 100%, boob arm (got it from Grads whipping a rock at me from point blank friday night) is giving me a lot of trouble and made me take the weight down a LOT for my upper body work
Didn't do any power cleans because of boob arm
3x6 Squats @185 (happy that I was able to pick up where I left off there)
Didn't do any lunges because boob arm could hold the 50lb db
3x6 Single Leg Calf Raises @145
3x6 Chest Press @130 (down 20lbs from regular due to boob arm)
3x6 Lat Pull Down @50 (down 20lbs b/c boob arm)
3x6 Shoulder Press @50 (down 25lbs b/c of boob arm)
3x15 Paintbrushes @12.5
3x12 Runners @7.5
3x20 Crunches @100
Need to heal up for this weekends tournament but I don't want to go into it without working out this week. I'm feeling so-so about this workout because my injuries are hurting me more than I thought they were but hopefully it won't effect my play this weekend.
